“You can’t go back to school, Hannah. I’ll miss you.”
Cue my heart breaking into little pieces.
I wanted to tell him it would be okay. I wanted to tell him my heart is just as sad with him. I wanted to tell him that all too soon he’ll be going to school with her and Asher and I will miss them. But it was their conversation.
“But I have to, J. I’ll miss you, too.”
It’s our last week before my daughter walks back into a new classroom. I’m going to miss her terribly. I’m going to have a chance to get to know my boys in a new way. And I’m going to watch her grow.
It’s hard. It’s beautiful. And this week, I will be holding them close, dancing with them every day and going out on every crazy adventure we can.
And I’ll remember this day.
I loaded up three amazing kids to road-trip one more time to see my parents. (Ted got to go see an incredible friend and help build a house. How amazing is my husband?!?) On the way out the door, they decided to wear their swim goggles. THE.ENTIRE.WAY. I wish I’d had a pair of my own.
Oh these two…
How sweet it this little man?!?
I melt every time. And then laugh hysterically.
Oh girl….I love you. You have your mommy’s heart. Forever and always.
I don’t know if I’ll be around as much this week or possibly walking this journey here through writing. But know that I am so grateful you’re here. And I hope you giggled.
Also – if you happen to live in or want to travel to Chicago – I am looking into planning a trip to Chicago in October. If you would be interested in setting up a session, please do email me at firstname.lastname@example.org as I try to plan my travel schedule! Thank you!!!
