We bonded over So You Think You Can Dance.

(And I still swear she’ll be making her appearance there one day.  She would blush, look away and say…no.  But you just wait, world.)

But it’s deeper than that.  It’s her kindness.  The way she and her family have a way of making you feel like you have a place with them.  It’s her love of shoes.  Her honesty.  Her laugh.  And all those little things that make you so grateful that you get to capture who she is.  Because who she is – is beautiful.

Makayla, thank you so much for giving me the incredible privilege of documenting this season in your life.  You are a gift.  (And so is your precious family.  Oh my goodness…)
